West Orange a large town within Essex County, just 14 miles from New York City. It is well known for being the home of Thomas Edison and there is a museum dedicated to him there. West Orange is also home to the Turtle Back Zoo and the South Mountain Recreation Complex which includes ropes courses, the Richard Codey Ice rink, McLoone’s Boathouse Restaurant, the Orange Reservoir Walkway, Safari Mini Golf, and the Regatta Playground.
